Film Director John Carpenter claims that there is a Dead Space movie in development.
The legendary film director previously said that he was very interested in making a Dead Space film since he is a big video game fan. According to a statement he shared with media outlet Variety, he has played a lot of games and shared his experiences with a certain US company catering digital cinematography cameras. He happened to mention that he would love to make a Dead Space film and that quickly spread around with them asking when he was going to make it.
Carpenter claims the guys handling the Dead Space franchise already have a director in mind and he was not called. “So until someone asks me, I wouldn’t do it,” he said.
EA has not shared any plans for a film version of Dead Space.
At least Carpenter is super excited about the release of the Dead Space Remake later this month.
“There’s a new version of the Dead Space video game coming out in January, and I’m there,” Carpenter said.
Dead Space Remake launches on January 27, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
