This is your Destiny 2 Weekly Reset for January 24 2023. As many of you are already aware, there will be no story update for this week. That’s right it is the calm before the storm and it is our chance to prepare ourselves for the season finale and the start of Lightfall.
Bungie has announced that there will be an upcoming quest + activity coming in the final two weeks of the Season of the Seraph. Season Pass owners can take advantage of an early glimpse as they will start the Destiny 2 seasonal finale quest automatically upon logging in.

Destiny 2 More Than a Weapon Quest Finale
Rasputin is well aware that the end is near. His simulations with the Reef’s Techeuns paint a grim picture. He is slowly accepting the fact that no matter what kind of tactics he can run, all will empower Xivu Arath in one way or another. He also concedes that we cannot allow them to have their way with the Warsat network.
“I also have a… special request,” says Rasputin.
Turns out, all the answers were right there, underneath our noses. Beneath the Cosmodrome, actually.
Many in the Destiny 2 community believe that the files we handed over to Rasputin were in fact the coordinates for Neomuna. It would suggest that Rasputin has finally trusted us enough with this critical piece of information. But it begs the question, “why did it take so long for him to trust us?” Perhaps we can chalk this one up as another one of the Warmind’s failed assumptions. Like the ill-advised decision to destroy the Traveler.
In this case, however, we can look towards the Spire of the Watcher for clues about the truth behind the files. Many years ago, Rasputin aided in the escape of a colony ship with the help of another AI. This ship was set adrift and eventually lost contact with Earth. Rasputin did this as a last-ditch attempt to save what he thought were going to be the last remnants of humanity.
Rasputin’s gamble may yet save us all.
Destiny 2 Weekly Reset Time
As always, the Destiny 2 weekly reset times are 10 AM PDT for the folks on the West Coast of the US. 6 AM BST for our readers in Britain. And 2 AM JST the following day for everyone in Japan.
Destiny 2 Weekly Activities January 24 – January 30 2023 Overview
This week sees massive balance changes throughout the game of Destiny 2. There are our personal highlights:
- Blues gear will no longer drop at the soft cap. This news is a welcome sight for veterans who are deep in the power grind and are tired of manually throwing away blues. In addition, Bungie will be increasing the reputation gain from dismantling gear by 25% to offset the loss of blue gear rep gain.
- Rumble will be a permanent activity in the Crucible.
On a final note, however, Guardians get to enjoy bonus Crucible ranks for the rest of the week. It’s a good opportunity to catch up and acquire that Veles-X Crucible weapon ornament.

Destiny 2 Nightfall This Week January 24 – January 30 2023
This week’s featured Nightfall in Destiny 2 takes us all the way to the Scarlet Keep where we have to stop a vengeful Hive from completing another sinister ritual.
Nightfall weapon this week
This week sees the return of the Horror’s Least pulse rifle as the featured Nightfall weapon. Not sure how to feel about this since pulse rifles are going to get reigned in very soon. Still, a rapid-fire frame can do wonder in close quarters with the full auto setting active.
Destiny 2 Crucible Featured Game Mode January 24 2022
Fun times are back as Lord Shaxx has authorized the return of Team Scorched to the Crucible! Not only can blow off some steam after losing two straight games of ranked to Citan’s Rampart teams, but it’s also another shot at completing the Team Scorched Seasonal Challenge.
Destiny 2 Featured Raid and Dungeon January 24 – January 30 2022
This week’s featured raid is going to be Deep Stone Crypt yet again. And if true, Bungie has increased the rate of Red Border drops starting this week. It’s a great way of finding out if it has gone live. Still, though, Deep Stone Crypt weapons are more than worth the grind.
And we have the Prophecy Dungeon featured this week. Enter the realm of the Nine and ask the enigmatic question: “What is the nature of the Darkness?”
And as usual, completing these featured content will reward you with pinnacle gear.
Deep Stone Crypt Raid Challenges
- Red Rover – Done during the 1st Encounter at Crypt Security, this challenge asks all players to be operators and shoot the two panels on the lower level (This challenge requires 3 phases).
- Copies of Copies – Done during the 2nd Encounter aka Atraks-1, do not send any Debuffs into airlocks/space.
- Of All Trades – Done during the 3rd Encounter or Taniks Phase 1, each guardian must do all three roles (Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor). Note: Players must complete a full phase with a buff for it to count.
- The Core Four – Done during the fourth 4th Encounter or Taniks Phase 2, the challenge requires the Guardians to dunk all four cores before DPS phases.
Destiny 2 King’s Fall Challenge This Week January 24 2023
This week’s King’s Fall Challenge is going to be Under Construction. Done during the Daughters encounter, and it requires the runner to not touch the same plates twice throughout the encounter. This one just needs everyone to be on the same page. And a little awareness works too.
If you accomplish this, you and your raid team will be rewarded with an additional raid chest that contains Hallowed loot and some high-stat armor. And if you’ve been keeping track, necessary to Gild that King’s Slayer Seal.
