At the end of the Lightfall campaign, we suffered a great defeat at the hands of the Witness. They have dealt a decisive blow to the Traveler before disappearing into parts unknown. And though the Vanguard is able to get close to the portal created by the Witness, the Guardians do not possess the means of safely traversing the space within. It’s fair to say that we are at wit’s end.
That is until we heard the voice of one we believed was lost. Deputy Commander Sloane sent out a distress signal. She’s asking for aid on Titan.
How to Start the Into the Depths Quest in Destiny 2
The Into the Depths seasonal quest can be started by interacting with the console next to the portal to Titan. The console becomes active after the introductory quest where we reunite with Sloane and meet with the Leviathan, Ahsa.
The seasonal artifact is the NPA Repusion Regulator. This is the device we use now to survive the crushing depths down below. Sloane claims that it is superior to whatever jury-rigged contraption the Drifter gave us. We tend to believe the survival expert.
Into the Depths Quest Steps
The first half of the weekly quest line sees our Guardians mostly salvaging Golden Age tech from the wrecks of Titan. It is somewhat similar to what we did before the Witness removed Titan from our plane of existence.
The other half requires us to retrieve a sort of fossilized coral that Sloane uses to make sense of Ahsa’s visions. Due to the intense nature of the melding of minds, Sloane must rest for a period of time after connecting with the Leviathan. Through this exchange, we hope to understand our enemy, the Witness, and hopefully discern a possible weakness.
Note that there are only 39 quest steps for this seasonal quest. This is shorter than one in seasons past. It is very likely that there are 2 or 3 season quests for Season of the Deep.

Into the Depths Rewards Destiny 2
At the end of the weekly set of tasks, Deputy Commander Sloane will give you a seasonal weapon. From our experiences from past seasons, the quest giver does not seem to give two of the same weapon from the seasonal loot pool in consecutive order.
What’s guaranteed though is that the weapon will be of your highest attained Light Level and there is a chance the weapon being presented to you is a red border weapon.
That’s everything we’ve got for the Into the Depths seasonal quest walkthrough. Check back here with us to stay up to date for the following week’s steps. We hope that you find this article useful in some shape or form.
