There is a new Playstation exclusive out there that might catch your eye.
If you’re a big fan of the Metal Gear Solid Series and Armored Core or anything mech related, you might definitely be excited for the upcoming Left Alive, which are being made by Toshifumi Nabeshima (director, Armored Core) and Takayuki Yanase (character designer, Metal Gear Solid)
Left Alive was announced earlier last week with Square Enix releasing a teaser trailer for the game.
We are introduced to a white haired character with a design similar to that of Bryan Fury from Tekken and Geralt from Witcher standing on a destroyed mech clearly inspired by Armored Core looking at the destroyed city around him. And we also see a setting that is strongly suggesting that the game takes place in Russia. Even the opening language is in Russian. However, it could be in any Slavic country.
If you don’t know what a “mech” is, it’s technically a giant robot—a tank with legs so to speak. Hopefully, in this game we can control them freely much like Titanfall—in and out when we choose to do so.
Left Alive is an action-survival shooter involving mechs which will be released in 2018. The trailer seems to suggest a dark story involving soldiers fighting in a never ending war with destruction everywhere. From what little gameplay we saw, it seems to be a blend of Metal Gear Solid V and Uncharted. We only see characters fighting on foot so we have yet to learn if mechs are truly playable. It does seem to be stealth based as well however, with many areas in gameplay shown to be in dark areas and playable characters fighting against giant robots using only firearms.
If Left Alive is anything like a blend between Metal Gear Solid and Armored Core, it’ll definitely be a must own game for the Playstation. They’ve definitely set the bar high with this game and we hope they don’t disappoint.
If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, make sure to do so. It is available in Youtube.
