Diablo IV will be getting new content regularly according to Blizzard in a recent interview.
Diablo IV Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora recently spoke with Game Informer in an interview to talk about their plans for the game after the official launch. According to him, the game will be getting “meaty” quarterly updates every three months. These updates will add new storylines to keep the content fresh for players even after completing the main campaign.
The updates will additionally be accompanied by a new seasonal battle pass that comes in both free and premium forms. Blizzard previously confirmed that Season 1 will not be launched together with the game and will be released at a later time.
Aside from the ones already mentioned previously about Diablo IV’s endgame, Blizzard also revealed that there are two additional affixes that players have to overcome when they are trying to conquer an endgame Nightmare dungeon. The first affix is an invincible pillar of lightning that will constantly chase players around in the dungeon. The other affix will chase players in a form of a shade. If caught, it will block the vision of the player and summon more enemies as punishment.
Game Informer also revealed some interesting new details about the Helltides in Diablo IV. Multiple areas can be affected by Helltides in all of Sanctuary and will persist for a limited time. More powerful and deadlier enemies will be born within the Helltide’s borders, including remixed versions of the various bosses from the game.
Diablo IV launches on June 6, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
