Blizzard has recently released the new Diablo IV Story Trailer to set up the narrative of the upcoming video game.
According to the new story trailer, Diablo IV is set 50 years after the events of Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls expansion. Associate Writer Eden Trujillo says that the angel Inarius and demon Lilith are now fighting each other with humanity as their battleground.
“Sanctuary was never meant for humankind. It was forged as a refuge from the war between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells,” speaks the narrator of the cinematic. “Instead, it became a new battleground in this Eternal Conflict.
“A secretive group called the Horadrim has kept mortals safe. But now this once powerful order is a husk of what it once was. And Sanctuary’s ancient creators have returned to claim the hearts of humankind. This is the story of their downfall.”
Diablo IV launches on June 6, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
