Dirt 5 PS4 Saves Confirmed Not Transferable to PS5

Game developer Codemasters recently announced on social media new information about the upcoming video game Dirt 5 related to PS4 and PS5 save transfer.

In a recent tweet by the game developer, Codemasters confirmed that the PlayStation 4 saves of the game will not be transferable to the PlayStation 5 version. Only the Playgrounds creations can be carried over. The game progress like career, currency, and saved liveries will not be transferred. They are hoping it can change later on and will let everyone know about it.

Currently on Xbox, all progress can be carried over between generations. On PlayStation, your Playgrounds creations can be carried over, but other game progress (Career, currency, saved liveries) cannot. If that changes, we'll let you know!

Codemasters did assure that the Xbox One progress can be carried over to the Xbox Series S/X with its Smart Delivery system.

This is not the first game where the PS4 saves are not transferable to the PS5. Yakuza: Like a Dragon was also confirmed by RGG Studio to have the same dilemma. It is also possible that Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4 version’s saves will not be compatible with the PS5 remastered version.

Dirt 5 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this coming Nov. 3. Xbox Series S/X and PS5 versions will come along later.
