Disney Dreamlight Valley is celebrating its second anniversary with a bunch of announcements about upcoming content and features. Creative Director Joshua Labelle shared a roadmap for the remainder of 2024 and teased even bigger surprises for 2025.
Tiana, Timon, and Pumbaa Join the Valley
In August, players can expect a free update that brings Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog to the Valley, along with her iconic palace and new décor. This update will also mark the conclusion of the A Rift in Time expansion pass, featuring a climactic showdown with Jafar.
October will bring another beloved duo to the game: Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King. Players will journey back to the Pride Lands to help the pair combat a Night Mite infestation, a new threat linked to the Forgetting.
Beyond new content, the development team is dedicated to enhancing existing features and addressing player feedback. Improvements to Scrooge McDuck’s Store, Furniture Mode, and DreamSnaps are already underway, with further optimizations planned for furniture and wardrobe menus.
Cross-platform multiplayer will arrive for PlayStation consoles in the next update, allowing players to connect with friends across different platforms and share their creative designs. Cross-save functionality for PlayStation is also on the horizon.
The team is actively working on new features to provide players with more space and freedom for decorating their virtual homes.
A Bright Future Ahead
While details about the 2025 roadmap remain under wraps, the development team promises a year filled with exciting surprises and new characters based on player feedback. A showcase later this year will reveal more about the game’s future.
Creative Director Joshua Labelle expressed his gratitude to the passionate community and reiterated the team’s commitment to delivering a magical experience for players of all kinds.
