Doom Eternal Promises To Be Gorgeous As It Pushes PS4 To Its Limits

With the next generation of PlayStation just around the corner, the good ole PS4 is still quite the fighter even at its age. Doom Eternal’s executive producer, Marty Stratton, guesses that this game id Software is making will probably push the current generation console to its limits.

We’re at the end of a hardware cycle where engine teams really understand the hardware and are getting the most out of it. We’ve increased graphics fidelity, polygon count…everything is pushed in this game and it still runs on all the consoles that Doom 2016 ran on.

Marty Stratton to Video Games Chronicle

We have yet to see if this is really the case as Doom Eternal is scheduled for release this March 2020. But Stratton feels really confident that the game will give console players something “special to look forward to.” But if its looking to be the best looking PS4 game this year, it has a lot of competition with upcoming games that look just as equally gorgeous: Resident Evil 3 Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
