Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay Deep Dive Video Released

Don't have a bridge? Look for an ogre to use for convenience!

As part of CAPCOM’s Tokyo Game Show presentation, a new Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay deep dive video was released.

The new deep-dive video that was shown at TGS 2023 reveals more gameplay from the upcoming sequel Dragon’s Dogma 2. This is living up to be the real follow-up to the cult classic open-world RPG just based on the footage shown.

The original game had players exploring the open world of the game which is filled with massive enemies that are highly reactive. Players could knock them down or climb them over to deal fatal blows. In this sequel, these features are doubled with new helpful uses in the world. See a giant ogre on the way and conveniently just near a canyon? Tip it over and use its carcass as a bridge! Did you just find a naturally-made damn nearby and you are getting overwhelmed by enemies? Bust open the walls to turn it against your enemies!

There are new Vocations to explore plus the advanced, hybrid options. The original bow-and-dagger Vocation, Strider, has now been broken into two separate starting options. The Archer now offers tons of ranged features and the Thief is focused on fast dagger attacks and loads of climbing potential.

The video also featured the Mystic Spearhead fighting a chimera and a group of wolves. He uses a spell that paralyzes the wolf and then moves forward close to the wolf with a teleport move, using a spear to massacre it to death, and use magic to carry the wolf’s corpse and throw it to the chimera. It is a whole new crazy way to mess things up on the battlefield.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is still in development.
