Dragon’s Dogma 2: Prey for the Pack Quest Walkthrough

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, Prey for the Pack is a side quest where the town’s apothecary needs help in looking for his grandson. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Prey for the Pack quest in a Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How to unlock the Prey for the Pack quest

To unlock the Prey for the Pack quest, travel to Checkpoint Rest Town and approach Morris’s Apothecary. Morris will then call your attention through a cutscene and ask for your help in looking for his grandson Rodge.

It is best to note that this is a timed quest. Passing one too many days from the time you receive the quest will lower your chances of finding Rodge alive and can result in a failed quest.

Find Rodge and go to his aid

After talking to Morris, you will find out that Rodge has been taken by wolves into their den. Your next objective is to gather information on how to track down these wolves by talking to some of the villagers.

The helpful people to talk to are Jacint who knows Rodge for the flowers he has brought her, Alsa who will tell you about the glowing flowers, and Rikhard who will tell you the location of the Putrid Cave where the wolves have been spotted.

Though it is not necessary to talk to these people to progress through the objectives, they can give you an idea on where to go and what to look for, especially Rikhard to get a marker for the cave. There have been reports that some of these villagers do not spawn, and given that there is not much time to work with this quest, you can simply go straight to the location of the Putrid Cave.

You can start the search for Rodge during daytime or nighttime, though the flowers that you can use to track are more visible when it is dark. Follow the flowers along the eastern road and make your way to the Putrid Cave. The cave will be guarded by the wolves, so prepare to engage them.

Once all of the wolves have been dealt with, you can then talk to Rodge who is at the back of the cave.

    Report back to Morris

As you head back to Morris, make sure that you also escort Rodge and bring him with you back to town; in case he can’t keep up, get stuck, or you lose him, retrace your steps or go back to the cave where he might respawn. Talk to Morris to tell him that you found Rodge, then talk to him again once Rodge is by the apothecary.

You will then be rewarded with 4,000 XP, x2 Miracle Roborant, and 11,000 G for completing the quest. In case you missed out on rescuing Rodge, make sure to pick up the Scrap of Cloth inside the cave and bring it back to Morris to still get 4,000 XP and 8,000 G.
