Dying Light 2 Good Night Good Luck Update Makes Nights Scarier

The nights are scarier, the enemies angrier, and the parkour more exciting.

Techland has recently released the Dying Light 2 Good Night Good Luck update which makes nights scarier and advances parkour.

Dying Light 2 Good Night Good Luck Update Offers Big Changes

Dying Light 2 Good Night Good Luck will introduce considerable changes to the gameplay. It improves the parkour and is an overhaul of the night experience. This update will offer substantial changes to the game that will make it more enjoyable.

Day and Night Cycle Hugely Improved

The day and night cycle is the main feature of the Dying Light franchise and the update aims to emphasize the difference in gameplay by ensuring that the night has a heavier, almost horror-like feel. Visibility will be significantly reduced, which will make players be more reliant on the upgraded flashlight that casts dynamic shadows. Sound design enhances the atmosphere with music taking a backseat to effects. The infected show up in more locations like Volatiles roaming the rooftops, making no place safe after sundown.

Parkour More Immersive

Chase sequences will be more immersive now with further improvements introduced to the parkour. Other additions include animations, increases control in the air, and maintaining momentum.

There will be a new parkour style, specifically designed to cater to the wishes of the fans who wanted it to be more challenging. Players can select in the Settings menu whether they would like to exercise more control over their movement, for a grounded and intense journey, or go with assisted gameplay.

Community Maps

Techland cooperates with mod.io to give players the rare opportunity to access maps created by modders right from the game without the need of downloading any additional applications or editors. The game will have a lot of new levels and content to play to demonstrate the creativity of the fans. This is only supported on PC in the meantime, but will be introduced to consoles and Steam Deck later this year.

Big Changes to Graphics and More

Other noteworthy additions include boosted graphics on ultra mode for PC, and a new color grading option called Harran Sunset. Players will now be able to throw weapons and retrieve them later. Some modifications to the user interface were introduced and added more transmog options.

Summer of Horrors

The update also introduces the Summer of Horrors, a series of events, crossovers, and updates spanning the entire season, all the way into September 2023. The Bloody Nights event will start on June 29, 2023 until July 13, 2023. Completing the event will offer rewards like 3 Huntress’ Regular and 3 Elite Mission Tickets, Crossbow and Bolts Blueprint with The Prick’s Outfit. The game will also be available with discount of 50 percent for the duration of the event.

Dying Light 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
