Companies and people seem to be dropping like flies this 2020. Is this some sort of new trend for the year? Event Production Companies, Iam8bit, has tweeted their resignation from E3 2020 with no explanation whatsoever. The tweet only mentioned that they resigned with “mixed emotions” which doesn’t tell us much.
Originally the event production company was supposed to “reinvigorate” E3 and “shake things up” while celebrating gaming culture in new ways. Iam8bit planned to do this via streaming and digital programming.
A little later, Entertainment Software Association, confirmed Iam8bit’s withdrawal through a statement.
We can confirm that Iam8bit is no longer part of the inter-agency group working on E3 2020. We greatly value their passion for the video game industry and the contributions they brought toward our vision for this year’s show
Despite the absence of Iam8bit and Sony at the event, ESA still plans to go through with E3 2020. With so many withdrawing from the event, people are becoming unsure about E3.
