The end is nigh for 2017 so before we go and spend some much needed quality time with our friends and family let’s spend a lot and I mean A LOT of time with ourselves and play some video games that may or may not be worth our time.
So let’s list down some of the games in the PS4 that you might want to have a go with before 2018 cometh. Why the PS4 you may ask? Well it’s mainly because out of all the platforms this year, the PS4 has the strongest lineup of games no matter how anyone looks at it, especially when it comes to the exclusives that it has, but fear not for we are also going to list down some non-exclusive games for the multi-platform nobles. So let’s list it down depending on what kind of gaming itch you’re trying to scratch.
Disclaimer: Once a game has been explained but has been mentioned again then kindly refer to the 1st description of said game unless there was a point that was missed.
Note: Most of the game titles will lead to our review of the game while the blank ones mean that we don’t currently have a review of said game.
The Casual – Just Plain Casual
Fortnite – You don’t need to spend for the zombie defense mode for this one, just look for the free battle royale version and you can casually play a game like PUBG for free on your console except you can build stuff.
Everybody’s Golf – This is a simple golf simulation game that caters to most people so you don’t need to do much really except play a simple round of golf every now and then. The most time you would probably be spending on this game would most likey be the character creation mode since there really is a lot of customizations to go over, heck you can even make Android 18, Hatsune Miku, or Lupin III if you want.
Unbox: Newbie’s Adventure – Ever had a dream of being a box and going on an adventure? Look no further and become Newbie as he sets out on an unboxing adventure of a lifetime.
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles – A small little game with a great big world to explore at your leisure. It’s like Zelda: Breath of the Wild but simpler. A relaxing game where probably your only frustration will come from the fact that you can’t swim.
The Hibernator – Wants A Time Consuming Game
Persona 5 – Get ready to surrender more than 100 hours of your life as this JRPG is one the longest games you will ever need to invest your time in. The most stylish video game ever created with one of the best soundtracks your ears will ever have an eargasm to and so much fun that even just looking at the loading screens is enough to make you go “woah”. This game is probably the most anime looking game to boot. The most fun high school life simulator you will ever have the chance of playing.
Tales of Berseria – Tales games are just really really long. So much adventure with the fate of the world hanging by the balance, it’s up to you and your ragtag group of misfits to prove everyone wrong and save the world. Berseria also happens to be the darkest story in the Tales series so get ready for something different if you are used to those positive looking games.
Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) – Let’s face it, this game is a grind. Even after the loot crates fiasco, there’s still a lot of time you have to spend just to unlock some characters or specific weapons. But for the glory of the empire or the republic, you must persevere!
FFXV (With Season Pass) – FFXV is a big game, bigger once it’s done updating, massive with the season pass. When the game came out last year, it felt disjointed, but now that we are nearing 2018, there’s already a lot of content released for it with the individual episodes, the multiplayer expansion, and so much more on the horizon. FFXV is only going to get bigger from here on out.
The Masochist – ‘Nuff Said
Nioh – Western Samurai facing hordes of youkai, with enemies being insanely fast leaving you almost no room for an opening, and with a difficulty level similar to or even harder than Dark Souls? That’s all you need to know about this game. Get the complete edition while you’re at it for the full experience.
Dark Souls III – The series that gave gaming a new difficulty, that’s all I can say.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice – Need something haunting and mentally taxing? Then this is the game for you, you mental masochist. The developers take no fault if you keep hearing whispers after playing the game.

Mass Effect: Andromeda – Space exploration ain’t really as big as one can may think when playing this game. Even the worlds aren’t as open as we initially thought them to be, but there is some form of enjoyment when trying to explore the few worlds that Andromeda has to offer.
Everything – Become everything, from a small amoeba to a galaxy, that’s all you need to know about this game.
No Man’s Sky (Updated) – The game may have been released last year but the dedication of the developers to realize their dream through this game is nothing short of commendable. Thanks to the updates, No Man’s Sky is looking more and more like the game that we all thought it could’ve been. Get ready to explore 18 quintillion planets because it’s gonna be amazing.
The Story Junkie – Wants A Great Story or A Mind F-Word

Danganronpa Series – The video game series is one of the odd ones out there but the story is definitely top notch. Your job is to find out who killed who and find the truth about the mysterious Hope’s Peak Academy that has imprisoned you and your potential allies or enemies. It is both disturbing and gruesome but a definite masterpiece in its own right.
Utawarerumono: The Mask of Deception & Utawarerumono: The Mask of Truth – A visual novel whose prequel dates back 15 years ago. These 2 games involves some strategy in their combat but the best part of the games is definitely the story. Politics and power struggles are what drives the games and the main plot is bigger than what it seems.
