Players will be disappointed in their next run as Epic Games has disabled the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer from all playlists. Is it due to some minor bug or is the cause something bigger?
Fortnite Shockwave Hammer Gets Disabled
Last December 2022, Epic Games removed the Deku Smash ability, which was part of the My Hero Academia collaboration event for some “unknown reasons”. It was one of the many fun ways to defeat enemies but it has been a long time since it got disabled so it would probably not return any more. Now, the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer got disabled.
The Official Word from Devs
According to Epic Games, the Shockwave Hammer got disabled temporarily in all playlists due to an issue. It will be introduced back to the game in the next update after they finally pin down the issue and fixed it. While the devs are not revealing what the issue is, it’s the players who are sharing what the problem is.
What the Players Say
Some players report that the Shockwave Hammer can be used for various exploits and that includes acquiring resources, like a lot. A LOT of those resources can easily be farmed with this item. Another exploit is the ability to bounce for a long time when a player gets in contact with water. It is fun, but it gets abused quite regularly.
How the Hammer Got Added
The Shockwave Hammer was introduced to Fortnite way back in Season 1 of Chapter 4 together with a new map. It also came out when the game supported the all-new Unreal Engine 5. Players were able to get the awesome hammer in chests or from certain NPCs during matches.
No word when the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer is really coming back but if the devs cannot hammer out the issues, it will take longer than anticipated.
Fortnite is out now on PC, Android, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
