Microsoft has now announced that Games with Gold will now stop adding Xbox 360 titles to its lineup soon.
Some Games with Gold subscribers have now received email from Microsoft giving them a heads up of their plans to stop adding old Xbox 360 titles to the free games lineup. This will start on October 2022, which means there will be two more months before the end day for Xbox 360 games. According to the email sent to media outlet Eurogamer, it seems Microsoft has now “reached the limit of its ability” for adding these old classics to the service.
The usual Xbox One free games will still be offered every month. Xbox 360 titles that were already claimed can still be redownloaded too, so at least there is a positive side to this change.
Here’s the full email courtesy of Eurogamer:
“From 1st October 2022, the monthly games provided to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members via Games with Gold will no longer include Xbox 360 titles,” Microsoft wrote.
“We have reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalogue; however, Games with Gold will continue to include exciting Xbox One titles and exclusive savings each month.
“This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 titles that you redeem via Games with Gold before that time are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription. Thank you for being a loyal member.”
The latest Games with Gold titles were already announced.
