New alternate outfits for four characters in Genshin Impact will be available for download starting today with miHoYo explaining how to claim them.
Just what miHoYo promised before, there will be four new alternate outfits that will be distributed starting today in Genshin Impact. Players will be able to get cool new outfit designs for Jean, Amber, Rosaria and Mona and all they need to do is starting logging into the game. Between January 27, 2022 and the launch of update 2.5 is there window for these costumes. After the release of update 2.5 though, the method to get them will be different.
Players will get an in-game letter that will have the four costumes attached. Get them for free starting today with the letters only available for only 30 days. After claiming the costumes, just change their looks via the character menu. These costumes will be present there along with other paid costumes that they might have gotten previously.
After 2.5 though, the only way to get the alternate costumes is via obtaining the characters themselves. If players do not have the characters in their roster, they will not unlock the alt costumes. Only Amber is free to get after completing a certain chapter in the main story. The others can be obtained via banners.
The alternate costumes will be used in character banners, in-game, and in animated cutscenes after update 2.5 is implemented. NPCs and banners will have these looks after 2.5. By 2.6, they will be the default in animated cutscenes since these will now be the default looks in China.
