Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently shared that the critically acclaimed video-game by Sucker Punch, Ghost of Tsushima, will be getting it’s own movie.
As shared on the official PlayStation Blog, Sucker Punch’s game director, Nate Fox, posted that the film will be directed by John Wick’s director, Chad Stahelski. With the John Wick trilogy’s success, the hope of getting a great movie based on a video-game is there.
“Chad Stahelski created something special with John Wick,” Fox wrote on PlayStation Blog. “His vision for what could be, backed up by years of experience, combined to create some of the finest action scenes ever created. If anyone could bring to life the razor-sharp tension of Jin’s katana combat, it’s Chad Stahelski.”
He also stated Ghost of Tsushima has sold over 6.5 million copies and half of those people have completed the game. If you want to check what we think about the game, check it here.
Thanks to Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions for making it happen.
Now we currently have 2 major films and 1 television series based on Sony’s popular AAA games to wait for — an Uncharted film which stars Tom Holland as Nathan Drake, The Last of Us TV show on HBO Max, and a full-length feature film of Ghost of Tsushima. What’s next? A God of War film? We’re down with that!
