After the many rumors, the “leaks” that several sources have shared, the reports from various media outlets, Rockstar Games has finally come out and made it official: Grand Theft Auto 6 is in the works.

Many fans have been waiting for this moment to arrive as Rockstar has generated several versions of GTAV. This has frustrated some fans, but there have been reports, sightings, claims, and whatnot that say GTA6 is in the works, but Rockstar is keeping it secret. It seems they are now ready to at least confirm it with their fans.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the GTA Online community for playing with us across 2021.

As we enter our third console generation and with much more to come in 2022 and beyond, here is a look at just some of what’s on the way. https://t.co/8KbrCRSBc2 pic.twitter.com/ia0WAnKPhR

In the latest press release Rockstar posted on its official website, it officially confirmed the upcoming sequel. Read it right here:

With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.

On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!

GTA fans are ecstatic that Rockstar Games has confirmed the existence of GTA 6, especially after bombarding the company with inquiries on social media about when the next Grand Theft Auto game would be released. Rockstar has now confirmed what most people already suspected: the game is in development. Even if the game’s name hasn’t been confirmed, the mere hint of it is enough to have GTA fans excited about what’s to come.

    GTA 6 Release Date

No release window is being teased for Grand Theft Auto 6 yet, but at least it has been confirmed it is being worked on. Now we will just have to wait for them to share some teaser images or clips from a very early version of the game. That will ease the pain of the fans who have waited for so long.

“Active production for the next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway,” according to a blog post from Rockstar this week. The “well underway” aspect may be used by players to guess how long it will take until the next GTA game is out, but Rockstar hasn’t said anything about it today either. Instead, the Rockstar Newswire will be used to disseminate new material as it becomes available.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is now in the works.

In the meantime, GTA 5 and GTA Online’s newest editions will be available next month for those who haven’t yet finished them. GTA 5 and GTA Online will be released on March 15th for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to a Rockstar post regarding the upcoming GTA game. A few months after the game’s release, PlayStation owners will be able to play GTA Online for free for a limited period of time.

GTAV and GTA Online come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15, with new graphics modes, technical advancements, and much more.

For now, GTA players may enjoy the excitement of others in the community like those who tweeted after Rockstar confirmed that a new GTA game will be coming out.

    GTA 6 Leaks and Rumors

Grand Theft Auto VI is rumored to be coming out in 2024. Due to Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, recently acquiring Zynga for $12.7 billion, the firm expects its next three fiscal years to see a 14 percent compound annual growth rate.

A Jefferies analyst believes that Take-Two has high hopes because they have faith in at least one of their upcoming projects, which is very likely to be a Rockstar IP, and as of right now, it appears that that project will be Grand Theft Auto VI.

Analyst from @jefferies who is bullish on Take Two- Zynga and is checking T2's math

"there are only a handful of titles that can…provide management with the confidence to put out such a strong guidance; we believe there is at least one Rockstar IP set to be released by FY24"

    Grand Theft Auto VI Online

It’s given that Rockstar Games will include an Online mode for GTA 6. Because of the game’s modern setting and because of the popularity of GTA V’s Online feature on projects like Red Dead Redemption 2 and others, the creators have made a lot of money with this model and are likely to continue it in the future.

As of this writing, no official word from Rockstar Games has been made on the status of Grand Theft Auto VI. But Take-Two Interactive, on the other hand, recently appears to have spilt the beans in terms of its new NPC technology feature.

According to a patent recently submitted by the company, a new smart AI system will govern the company’s navigation in terms of driving and conduct, and such a feature is certain to debut in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Who will be the characters in GTA 6?

Since the planned GTA 5 single-player story DLC never materialized, we’re pretty sure the protagonists’ stories in GTA 5 are ended. When GTA 6 is out, you can count on seeing a few familiar people, names, businesses, and locales. Several characters from previous GTA games make a brief appearance in GTA 5, including Lazlow Jones from GTA 3, Ken Rosenburg as Tommy from Vice City (and CJ from San Andreas), as well as Sweet and Ryder from GTA 4.

According to the rumors from The Know, GTA 6 may be the first in the franchise to have a prominent female protagonist. Adding a major female character to the Grand Theft Auto formula should be expected, as we witnessed in GTA 5.

First Character For GTA 6 Confirmed

For Grand Theft Auto 6, Dave Jackson is the first voice actor to be cast in a part. In a tweet, Jackson said that GTA 6’s first character would be Captain McClane.

A voice actor by the name of "Dave Jackson" has claimed he's playing the role of "Captain McClane" in the next GTA title (presumably GTA 6 VI).

Most leaks and rumors that have surfaced recently should be taken with a grain of salt by fans. Many of these rumors may come to fruition when the game’s creators ultimately unveil what’s in store in the next few months.
