Team Cherry officially confirms Hollow Knight Silksong delayed because the new sequel has become “quite big” now.
The much-awaited Metroidvania sequel Hollow Knight Silksong has been delayed. It was supposed to be due in the first half of 2023. Team Cherry Representative Matthew Griffin was the one to lay down the news on his Twitter account to confirm that the game will be launching at a later date.
“Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong,” he wrote. “We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can. Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.”
Fans already speculated that the game would launch on its previously planned release date. There were a few updates from the developers, but the fans suspected it could be delayed. It turned out to be true.
Hollow Knight Silksong promises to have a brand new kingdom, over 150 different enemies, and a Silk Soul mode, which is a new difficulty setting that will vastly change the game after the first playthrough like it’s a whole new game.
Hollow Knight Silksong has no new release window yet. It will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
