How to Find Brutes in LEGO Fortnite
Because of LEGO Fortnite’s procedural generation, there’s no way to pinpoint where Brutes will spawn. However, Brutes can be found wandering around the open surface in different biomes. If you’re hearing loud stomping sounds, then there’s one that’s definitely nearby.
There are three types of Brutes in the game, each living in their own biome.
- Brutes: You can find standard Brutes stomping on the Shores biome, which is easily confused for the Dry Valley. Standard Brutes drop the ‘Brute Scale’ upon defeat.
- Sand Brutes: You can find Sand Brutes in the harsh environments of the Dry Valley biome. Defeating Sand Brutes rewards you with ‘Sand Brute Scale’.
- Frost Brutes: You can find Frost Brutes wandering in the Frostlands biome. Upon defeat, Frost Brutes will give you a ‘Frost Brute Scale’.
How to Defeat Brutes in LEGO Fortnite
Brutes are the toughest enemies in the game and have different attack patterns. They have a large health pool and can resist damage pretty well. Up close, they can kill you in one shot, even when you’ve fully upgraded your health. The best way to deal with them is by keeping your distance and fighting with the crossbow.
Even from a distance, fighting a Brute isn’t safe. They have a ranged attack where they spit out acid, which will leave a small spot on the ground that’s hazardous to step on. Thankfully, this projectile can easily be dodged.
Brutes may also charge at you from far away to close in the distance, which deals a lot of damage. This movement is fast, and you’ll have a second to dodge out of the way before you’re trampled. It will thump on its chest before doing this, which is an indicator that you should move out of the way.
When Brutes are close, they can do a shockwave attack where they raise their arms above their heads and pound the ground. This will cause a shockwave on the ground that moves forward. You need to dodge sideways to avoid this attack.
If Brutes do get close to you, they’ll swing their arms as a regular attack. It’s a bit slow and easy to dodge backwards, but it can deal quite a bit of damage if you’re caught.
Tips and Tricks when Fighting a Brute in LEGO Fortnite
Brutes can detect you from pretty far away and have about the same range of detection as wolves. Once you get near enough, the fight with it will start. Here are some useful tips to deal with Brutes:
- It’s very easy to die to Brutes, and you can wind up having to spawn back at your village far away. So the best thing to do is to bring x10 Wood with you and then build a bed near the location of Brutes. This will set that location as your spawn point in case you die, so you don’t have to travel far.
- Though the Brute’s attacks are strong, half of them can still be blocked using shields. It will cause you to stagger a bit, but you can quickly move out of the way. Using a shield on your off-hand may be one of the best forms of defense against Brutes.
- You can equip a consumable on your left hand, which you can do by putting an item in the rightmost slot of the quick slot inventory bar. This will let you heal on the go without having to bring up the menu should you take a hit.
- Bring a friend to the fight. You don’t have to fight Brutes alone in LEGO Fortnite, and you can ask a friend to help you out if you’re having trouble. If this isn’t an option, then you can gift a villager with a weapon and ask them to come with you. This way, you won’t have to fight the Brutes alone.
