Leon Kennedy Resident Evil Requiem Trailer Showcased at The Game Awards 2025

We finally get to see Leon Kennedy in action for the Resident Evil Requiem. Shortly after his appearance was leaked via the PlayStation Store, Requiem drops the latest trailer during The Game Awards 2025. Unlike the previous trailers who focused a fresh face, we get a familiar one at last.

Resident Evil Requiem – 3rd Trailer

We were already expecting a second protagonist for Resident Evil Requiem. But the 3rd trailer of the game finally confirms that it’s Leon S. Kennedy, whom we have seen since the 6th game (not including the movies). This time, he’s a lot older than we’re used to and we’re instantly reminded of how long Racoon City was ago when we see a Leon in his 50’s.

While most of the 3rd trailer for Requiem focuses on Grace Ashcroft, the game’s first protagonist, the final half finally introduces Leon as the secondary protagonist. Complete with a more action oriented gameplay that we can expect from a veteran like him.

The final part of the trailer shows Leon’s gameplay in third person. Not just him fighting zombies but, unlike Grace, he’s a lot more comfortable with getting up close and personal against the horrors that Grace spends most of her time trying to avoid.

Now the question remains of just how big of a role Leon will play in Resident Evil Requiem. We’ll have to find out when the game releases this February 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
