Lies of P: Should you use the Ergo Drops from Bosses?

Bosses in Lies of P have special Ergo drops that are worth a lot of Ergo, enough to gain a level or two in the early parts of the game. But are they worth using to level up P? Or can they be used for something else?

Read ahead as we talk more about the Boss Ergo Drops of Lies of P and their importance to the gameplay.

How to get Boss Ergo Drops

As the term implies, these special Ergo drop from defeated bosses in each chapter. They have special names like Parade Leader’s Ergo or Broken Hero’s Ergo, and they are placed on a separate section in the inventory, just below where the Ergo fragments and shards are. Only one of each type can be obtained in a playthrough.

Should Boss Ergo Drops be used for leveling up?

The answer to the question would depend on which playthrough you are at the moment.

If you’re just playing through your first and second playthroughs, then it’s best to keep these Boss Ergo Drops until you meet Alidoro, the treasure collector. The reason is because Alidoro accepts these special Ergo as currency for you to be able to get special weapons and accessories from his collection.

If you’re playing on your third playthrough onwards, then you may consider using these Ergo Drops to boost up your level as you have most likely collected all the weapons and accessories that you can buy using these drops at this point.

How to meet Alidoro in Lies of P

Alidoro the Hound can be first met in Chapter 4, on the outdoor balcony of the St. Frangelico Cathedral Library. Inside the library is an elevator guarded by an elite enemy. Ride the elevator up and you will reach the balcony where Alidoro is at.

On your first conversation with Alidoro, he will ask for a place where he can take refuge. You can either take the lying route by leading him away from Hotel Krat, or you can take the truthful route and point him straight to Hotel Krat. Regardless of which choice is made, Alidoro will find his way to the hotel. This choice will still have an effect towards P’s lying mechanic, so it’s worth doing either route depending on the ending that you want to reach.

If you choose to lie to Alidoro, you will have to meet up with him in Venigni’s Workshop after Chapter 4, then tell him to go to Elysion Boulevard. He will object to it saying that he’s been to the boulevard and it’s no good, so he will go to the hotel instead. Alidoro will be a bit disappointed that you lied to him, but he will still sell you his collection.

Whenever you obtain a Boss Ergo Drop, you can check with Alidoro to see new items that you can purchase with that drop.
