Just a little while ago, Bandai Namco Entertainment officially shared a new gameplay video that showcases its upcoming game, Little Nightmares 3, co-op feature. In the previous installments, Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares 2, it has always been a single-player experience. There have been requests for a co-op mode in Little Nightmares, and Tarsier Studios delivered that in the franchise’s upcoming entry.
The 18-minute co-op gameplay video brings us into the depths of The Necropolis, highlighting the game’s two main protagonists, Low and Alone, being controlled by two different players. Here, we can see how viable the co-op experience would be in a game like Little Nightmares 3.
However, for those looking for a local couch co-op experience, the press release only stated that its co-op mode can only be played through online. It begs the question, like Hazelight’s It Takes Two and A Way Out, will Bandai Namco Entertainment offer some “friend pass” that would let game owners bring in another player without them purchasing another copy? Will the game also support cross-play? I hope it does, and we will have to wait for Bandai Namco Entertainment to make an official announcement.
Little Nightmares 3 will be released in 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
