Metal Gear Solid Locked at 30 FPS in Master Collection

It was already expected, but many were hoping it was going to get some changes.

Konami has recently revealed new information about the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 and it shows the framerates of the three games included. Unfortunately, there is some bad news for one of the titles.

The new details of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 revealed the framerates for Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. While the latter 2 have different framerates ranging from 30 – 60 fps, the former is unfortunately something that fans would not like.

MGS2 and MGS3 have frames of 60 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC while the Nintendo Switch on handheld and TV mode is only 30 fps. The original Metal Gear Solid title though, it is locked at 30 fps on all platforms.

It was also confirmed that all the games will be stuck at 1080p resolution on platforms except on Nintendo Switch handheld mode. Unfortunately, the whole collection will not support 4K resolution.

The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 launches on October 24, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
