Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Features Story, Gameplay and Fatalities

Tag team Fatalities is a thing!

NetherRealm Studios has recently released a new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer at Summer Game Fest 2023.

Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Shares New Story

The newest Mortal Kombat 1 trailer featured a whole new story that Fire God Liu Kang created. The roles of various characters have now changed especially the famous ones that have been present in classic Mortal Kombat eras. The video reveals that Scorpion and Sub Zero are now literal brothers. Princess Mileena is not a clone of Princess Kitana anymore but has a strange disease and the latter is just trying to protect her. Raiden is now mortal but still uses lightning powers. Some characters have retained their roles, but with slight differences like Johnny Cage as a Hollywood star, Kung Lao is still funny, while Kenji seems to be a bit cranky.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo Fighters

Gameplay has been changed too with the addition of Kameo fighters. Kameos is a unique roster of partner characters that assist players during matches. They are not just exclusive unique characters but can also include playable ones so it is possible that Sub Zero has a Kameo fighter Sub Zero too. They are one half of the Fatal Blows and feature their own Fatality.

Air Kombos

Air combos have returned too. Players can start with a high-damaging kombo on the ground, take the fight to the sky, then slam opponents back to the ground.
