Blizzard has recently revealed new details about the Diablo IV Post-Launch ‘Experience’, including Season 1, Battle Pass, and Shop Content.
On the official Blizzard website, Blizzard shared new details about Diablo IV’s post-launch ‘experience’. Seasons will appear quarterly and offer new features, questlines, items, and balance changes. Players will have to complete the main campaign first before tackling the new season.
Season 1 will begin in mid to late July 2023. This will give players time to complete the Campaign before the first season starts.
Blizzard says that players are encouraged to “begin your pursuit of Lilith in advance” so they could jump into Season 1 when it launches.
After Season 1 launches, players will be able to access the Season Journey screen. It will give them details on the new content available and explain the objectives that need to be completed to earn each Season’s rewards.
Each Season will have a new Battle Pass introduced. It will contain 27 free tiers and 63 premium tiers. The free tiers will include cosmetics and ‘Smoldering Ashes’. The latter can be used on Season Blessings which offers XP, Gold, and Obol bonuses.
Blizzard clarifies that the premium tiers will not offer any in-game power. It will instead offer unique cosmetics only available in that season with Platinum. Platinum is a premium in-game currency and can be bought with real money. It can be spent in the Shop to get cosmetic items or buy future Battle Passes.
Premium Battle Pass will cost 1000 Platinum which Blizzard claims is $9.99. There is also an accelerated Battle Pass that has a price of 2800 Platinum (roughly $24.99) which has 20 tier skips and a special cosmetic to get.
The Shop will only provide cosmetics and, in bold text, NOT HAVE ITEMS THAT OFFER STAT INCREASE. All of the cosmetics available in the Shop will cost Platinum. There will be cosmetics that will be unique to specific classes and will rotate on a consistent basis.
Diablo IV launches on June 6, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
