Nintendo recently announced that it will discontinue the social media logins for Nintendo Accounts.

In a recent post on the official Nintendo Twitter account, the game company confirmed that it would be removing the social media logins into Nintendo Accounts. This means players will not be able to login into accounts via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts.

Players can still log into their Nintendo Accounts via a linked Facebook or Twitter account. This will be removed this coming October 25, 2022.

Aside from the social media account removal, Nintendo will also remove support for the 3DS and Wii U Image Share service. The eShop storefronts for these consoles will also close on March 27, 2023.

Starting October 25, 2022, players can only log into their accounts by using either an email address and password, or via a Google or Apple account. The creation of Nintendo Accounts will not be available via social media accounts on that day too. Linking these two social media accounts to their Nintendo Accounts will not give them My Nintendo Points anymore.
