Nintendo has finally confirmed that it is not joining the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2023.

It was recently reported that the major gaming companies, Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo were not going to join E3 this year. None of them have confirmed with an official statement and one of them only hinted at their plans for that time, but this time one of them finally made it official. Surprisingly, it was Nintendo to make the first move.

It was confirmed by a spokesperson from Nintendo who was contacted by media outlet IGN. They stated that this year’s E3 did not fit into the company’s plans and therefore pulled out of the event. They did, however, did not rule out attending future events.

IGN did note one of the primary reasons for Nintendo’s not attending E3 2023 is due to the lack of major releases. The company did showcase most of their big games last Nintendo Direct, especially The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, so it is plausible that this is a big reason for not attending.

Would Nintendo be joining future E3 events in the future? Well, depending in the situation, probably. If again, there are no big announcements, they will again not join the showcase.
