Nintendo Switch Is Not Getting A Discount This Holiday Season, Nintendo of America CEO Confirms

This is apparently not good news for those who are waiting to get their Nintendo Switch next month.

And it’s not just Christmas season, but this upcoming Black Friday sale will not affect Nintendo’s price for its hybrid handheld-console. That is going to leave a lot of people disappointed, however, it might not be the case for everyone. Nintendo Switch has shown an incredible innovation within the console and mobile arena, and the games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle will surely entice people to get one despite not having a discount.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé told the publication that they are not discounting the Nintendo Switch.

“We are not discounting the Switch…. We’re focusing on making sure we have robust supply at retail.”

It’s been known that the demand for Nintendo Switch is still high at this point in time, and lowering the price could lead to more availability issues at local retailers for the console.

“We actually sold through almost 2.8 million units, so we dramatically over delivered.”

Nintendo Switch’s success can prove that Nintendo does not need any help with discounting the console’s price.
