Reports Reveal Nintendo Switch Pro Info Including OLED Screen and 4K Support

There have been many reports in regards to the supposedly next hybrid console Nintendo Switch Pro and now new information is flowing through.

One report came from a dataminer, SciresM from a ResetEra thread. It revealed some information about the “new” console like its battery life, display, and its support. Supposedly, the new Switch is codenamed Aula and uses a Mariko SoC.

The most significant part of the report is that the display is largely upgraded and might support 4K resolution. It was reported before that Aula has firmware support for some Realtek chip that advertises itself as a 4K UHD multimedia SoC. The poster surmises that it could be inside the new dock and not the tablet itself.

SciresM revealed that the display is now an OLED screen and the tablet’s resolution will still be the same. The 4K resolution will be when docked.

The battery life was reported to be a lot better and has cooling as well. The games are speculated to be enhanced and compared it to how the PS4 Pro enhanced a game that still worked on a standard PS4.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but this report is promising.

Nintendo Switch is now available worldwide.
