Off-Brand Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 Faceplates Threatened Getting Sued

The new PS5 faceplates are using the designs of version 2.0.

Dbrand, makers of the popular gaming and tech skins, has been threatened with getting sued by Sony Interactive Entertainment after it revealed its new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 faceplates.

Recently, an off-brand version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 faceplates was revealed by dbrand. Before that, SIE revealed the special edition controllers and PS5 faceplates inspired by the upcoming video game. Fans of series quickly bought their own faceplates to personalize their PS5s, but unfortunately due to the high demand, these were sold out quickly.

To counter this shortage, dbrand quickly created its own version of the special PS5 faceplates but with its own additions. Aside from the similar color scheme and design of its surface, dbrand added a fan on the side of the PS5, just like its previous off-brand faceplate, Darkplates 2.0. These new faceplates are currently called Arachnoplates.

While SIE is threatening to sue dbrand, the Arachnoplates are using the designs of Darkplates 2.0, which did not get sued when it came out after the original was revealed. The design of the surface is quite different from the official Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 faceplates and it has a side fan. It is most likely the company will not receive any legal repercussions after this gets sold worldwide.
