Latest PlayStation 5 Update Adds New Feature Focusing on Latency Settings

ALLM gets added.

Best PS5 Games That You Need To Play

Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently released a new PlayStation 5 update.

The latest PS5 update is version 22.01-05.50.00 and it now available to download. One of the highlights of this new update is it adds auto low latency mode settings, which will be available for displays that support it. This would let the display automatically switch to low-latency mode while playing games, which can make the connection stronger and reduces the chance for a connection loss or delay.

Check out the full patch notes below:

  • If you’re using a TV that supports ALLM (auto low latency mode), you can adjust ALLM settings in Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > ALLM.
  • If you select Automatic, your TV will automatically switch to low-latency mode while playing games.
  • If you select Off, ALLM won’t be enabled, except during VRR (variable refresh rate) output.
  • This system software update improves system performance.

And just like with previous updates, the ever-present “improves system performance” is still there.

The latest PlayStation 5 update is now live.
