PS4K Before October 2016, Possible Reveal at TGS 2016

With all news and rumors about the new upcoming upgraded Playstation 4, codeanamed as “PS4 Neo” or in the web as “PS4K”, will be launched by October of this year according to French wholesaler Innelec Media. The source of this news came from TweakTown.com. According to their post:

“Innlec published the forecast in their Fiscal Year 2017 earnings call, outright declaring Sony will release the PS4 Neo (aka PS4K, PS4.5) before October 2016. Seeing as Innelec is a major French video games distributor and wholesaler, this could be factual. If true, Sony will likely unveil PS4 at the Tokyo Game Show in September.”

This is actually big news for everyone. But it’s still a “speculation” or rumor. If this is actually true, we we might get an update by late June or possibly in August, a month before Tokyo Game Show. And if the reveal of PS4 Neo at TGS 2016, we might be able to get a closer look of the console since we will be going to TGS 2016.

These are the specs of PS4 Neo from the  same post on TweakTown:

Original PS4

  • CPU: 8 Jaguar Cores at 1.6 GHz
  • GPU: AMD GCN, 18 CUs at 800 MHz
  • Memory: 8GB GDDR5, 176 GB/s

PS4 Neo

  • CPU: 8 Jaguar Cores at 2.1 GHz
  • GPU: Improved AMD GCN, 36 CUs at 911 MHz
  • Memory: 8GB GDDR5, 218 GB/s

The specs are quite impressive. If this hardware can run games at 4K, then we can see a cheaper hardware that can run 30FPS the most or possibly 60FPS at 4K Resolution.
