Quake (2021) Officially Announced with Launch Trailer

The native next-gen upgrade will be released soon.

Bethesda Softworks and id Software proudly reveal the new Quake (2021) with a launch trailer.

This was announced at QuakeCon 2021 and celebrates its 25th anniversary. It has been enhanced with for modern hardware. It is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. it is also backwards compatible with the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The next-gen versions are coming as well.

Players will be able to enjoy the full single-layer campaign with its two expansion. It offers cross-platform support for co-op play up to four players, deathmatch with up to eight players, improvements to lighting and models.

Next-gen version will offer additional features like full support for native 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rates, and DualSense support for the PS5.

The re-release is a project done by id Software and Nightdive Studios, which has a reputation for bringing retro games to modern platforms.

The soundtrack is still the one composed by Trent Reznor and his industrial music group Nine Inch Nails. This set the game’s tone with ethereal, ambient sound.

Quake (2021) has officially launched today on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It is currently priced $9.99.
