As a result, Redfall received mixed reviews at launch and has a Metacritic score of 64 for the Xbox Series X version. Some critics call the game generic and shallow. It has now joined the ranks of the lowest-rated triple A releases of this year, joining Forspoken and Destiny 2 expansion Lightfall.

On Steam, Redfall has a rating of Mostly Negative with comments ranging from performance issues to calling the game another contender for the worst PC port of 2023. Some also complained of its quality of graphics, which did not impress them at all.

Redfall is now available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
