CAPCOM will release a big day one patch for Resident Evil 4 Remake on launch to fix a very common issue in games involving rain effects.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the most anticipated titles to play this year and fans are excited to get their hands on a copy. There have been previews of the gameplay recently and while the visuals were greatly impressive, some were concerned about a certain effect that might break the immersion of players. They were talking about the rain effect which looked too thick and weird looking.
Dubbed the “raingate”, this is very common issue in many remasters and remakes when using the rain effect. It would look out of place and sometimes would break the immersion of the player since it would just distract them from the gameplay. It seems this will be averted after this new statement.
Media outlet Press Start recently interviewed Producer Hirabayashi Yoshiaki about this particular special effect and asked if there will be any changes, later on, to make it less intense and not distracting.
“We’ve seen everyone’s reaction to the rain effects, and we are working on a day-one patch to make adjustments,” Yoshiaki answered.
This is great news for players as this will make it easier to play the game. Crisis averted.
Resident Evil 4 Remake launches on March 24, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
