Roblox Head Gives Statement Explaining Three-Day Outage

The boss explains it all.

Roblox CEO David Baszucki recently posted on the official blog post to explain the very long three-day outage of the game service.

The game Roblox is an incredibly popular game that many gamers of different ages play and enjoy. When the outage started, everyone was panicking because there were rumors that it might be shutting down and the outage was just the beginning. Baszucki then posted on the official blog post to explain to the community of Roblox why the long outage happened.

It was revealed that there was a subtle bug that caused the three-day long outage. He also revealed that it involved several other factors that combined into a complex problem. He explained that the core system in their infrastructure became overwhelmed and that was prompted by the subtle bug in their backend service communications when it came under heavy load.

Baszucki assured that this was not due to any peak in external traffic or any other experience. It was rather due to the growth in the number of servers in their datacenters. Due to that, most of the services of Roblox were not able to effectively communicate with each other.

With the gamer servers now back online, the game company is now looking for ways to make things right for their users. No details yet on how that will happen, but there should be an announcement later on.

Roblox is now available on Xbox One, PC, Android, and iOS.
