Sonic Frontiers Reportedly Getting Lower Frame Rates on Xbox Series S

SEGA shared a fix but...

New reports are saying that Sonic Frontiers is only running at lower frame rates on the Xbox Series S.

Several players have recently reported that the recently launched video game has been running at a lower frame rate on the lesser brother of the Xbox Series X.

Microsoft stated before launch that the game has been optimized for both Xbox Series X and S to hit 60fps. A user discovered that it is running at 30fps on the Series S with no performance mode option to choose from.

SEGA has also shared a solution with media outlet TheGamer. It involves making some changes to the main console settings. They have suggested to change the TV and Display Options to 1080p instead of a higher resolutions in order to hit 60fps. If the display was 4K UHD, that might have been the cause of the lower frame rate.

Players are still complaining that this method has not fixed their problem and it still persists, unfortunately. Media outlet Eurogamer has also confirmed that the fix that SEGA provided does not make any changes at all.

Sonic Frontiers is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
