Sony Planning to Acquire More South Korean PS5 Exclusives

More studios, more exclusives.

Sony Interactive Entertainment is reportedly planning to acquire more PS5 exclusives in another country.

Sony Shopping for PS5 Exclusives Again

A new report has revealed that SIE is allegedly looking to secure more PS5 exclusives again and third-party partnerships in the country of South Korea. This comes from MTN Korea which reports that the company is now in discussions with multiple studios. The studios that the company is in talks with are Pearl Abyss (Crimson Desert currently in development for PS4 and PS5), NCSoft (Blade & Soul), Com2uS (Summoner’s War), and Neowiz Games (Lies of P).

HoYoVerse Was a Big Catch

Investing in partnership with HoYoVerse was the right choice for the game company as it gave them console exclusivity of Genshin Impact, one of the most successful free-to-play RPGs today. Its upcoming game Honkai: Star Rail is already promising to be one of the biggest games this year so when it does launch on Sony’s consoles, it is expected to give them big profits.

It All Started with Lies of P

With the rise of South Korean games’ popularity recently due to Lies of P, Sony is now banking on getting more exclusives soon from other South Korean studios that might have some hidden gems tucked away.  Who knows, it might just be another gold mine for them and this time with more games.
