UPDATE: As of 2:46PM GMT +8

Electronic Arts have released an official statement regarding about Star Wars Battlefront II’s current microtransaction status. According to DICE’s General Manager, Oskar Gabrielson, they will continue to listen for feedback and will tuning the game’s balance before enabling in-game purchases, or in short – microtransactions.

“We have created a game that is built on your input, and it will continue to evolve and grow. Star Wars Battlefront II is three times the size of the previous game, bringing to life a brand new Star Wars story, space battles, epic new multiplayer experiences across all three Star Wars eras, with more free content to come.” – Oskar Gabrielson, DICE General Manager on an official blog post at EA’s site.

    ORIGINAL STORY

Gamers and fans voices have been heard. Earlier as of today, the launch day of DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront II, the studio has temporarily disabled microtransactions until they get everything balanced.

According to tweet through EA Star Wars, it mentioned “This was never our intention. Sorry we didn’t get this right.” This shows that DICE and EA have come to a point after the community’s outrage and feedback that they have turned off the feature until it gets sorted things out.

As of today, all loot crates can only be purchased through in-game credits.

We are hopeful that EA and DICE will make the right move in balancing the crates, Credits distribution, and Star Cards balance to mold the game as what it really needs to be. Since we were provided a pre-release review code for Star Wars Battlefront II, Lexuzze praised the game’s multiplayer and stated in his review that this sequel is “complete experience” than the first Battlefront thus scoring the game an 8.5 out of 10.

Star Wars Battlefront II launches today.
