New Star Wars RTS Reportedly in Development

A report claims that there is a brand-new Star Wars real-time strategy game in the works aside from the one developed by Respawn and Bit Reactor.

Way back in 2014, a mobile game called Star Wars Commander was released on mobile and that was the closest RTS game fans could get. Sadly, it shut down in 2020 and no other RTS game based on the Star Wars franchise has been in development. Way back in the early 2000s, there was the Star Wars Empire at War RTS game made by Petroglyph Games. Now, a new report says there is a new one in development right now.

I was able to squeeze Empire At War into our ranking of the best Star Wars games. The RTS is somehow 16 years old, and I'd love to see a sequel from Blackbird or Relic. How do we make this happen?https://t.co/Pv9FZd4F07

According to a reply to GamesRadar editor Josh West’s post, VGC Owner and editor Andy Robinson revealed that there is a new Star Wars RTS that is currently in development. This was a reply to West’s post about his wish for a new Star Wars RTS game. It seems fans might be getting their wish come true soon.

West at first believed that Robinson was talking about the silently announced Star Wars strategy game that is being developed by Respawn Entertainment, but it seems that is not the case. Robison clarified that this is a new title, and has not been announced yet.

While no other details were shared, Robinson did say that this is being worked on by a “big-name developer”.

A new Star Wars RTS game is reportedly in the works.
