We’ve already seen Phase 1 during the Early Access launch, which only had two game modes. The upcoming Phase 2 will add a new Horde mode where players will be fighting against a massive army of alien bugs to hold out as long as they can. Fittingly, this is the phase where Offworld Industries gives us manned HMG emplacements, which add an extra layer of defense.
Watch out for the new Mutators coming in this phase as well, which we’ll learn more about soon. They may be a new bug enemy that could have some fatal effects to counter our new defenses. We’ll finally have player profiles and stats added so others can know how distinguished we are. A new section of the Valaka Map will open up for exploration.
Phase 3 is where we get more in regards to class progression. We’ll be able to upgrade our abilities and take part in a rewards system to give soldiers more incentive to go out and do more beyond their citizenship. We may get new special weapon slots in relation to our classes that we can swap to give our chosen class more firepower in combat. Watch out for the hives, though, as bugs will continuously spawn there. Though we expect there’ll be some way to destroy it.
We get a lot of player interaction with Phase 4, which gives us a Player Hub where we can possibly meet with other players and form clans. We can even emote in this phase, which we’ll probably be using to communicate with other players or taunt the bugs. It isn’t all just player interaction, as the new weapons will finally be arriving, expanding our arsenal.
What’s exciting about Phase 4 is the new planet Offworld Industries is putting us on. We finally get to see something other than Valaka. And there’s a new boss bug too, so expect a tough fight. To even the odds, we’re getting marauder support, which we hope is power armor that we can put on, giving us increased strength and the ability to jump high.
Phase 5 is the last phase the developers planned for the Starship Troopers: Extermination roadmap. Here we get a new class, which brings a total of four classes to pick from. We’ll also be able to add uniqueness to our personal avatars thanks to player customization. There’s a new Galactic War Meta-game which we believe is a new game mode similar to the likes of Conquest. You can view your Global Death Counter, and more gore will be added to the game.
This Starship Troopers: Extermination roadmap was revealed on the game’s Steam page and Discord, but there aren’t any release dates yet for when each phase will launch. It is also stated that the roadmap contents are potentially subject to change depending on player feedback Offworld Industries gets. So far, we’re loving what’s being promised.
Expanding the game’s content would also greatly enhance the overall gameplay. As fans of the original films, the Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles series, and books, we are all hyped for this bug-killing action-packed first-person shooter, and most of all, we are happy to know that its developer knows the only good bug is a dead bug.
That’s everything we know so far for the Starship Troopers: Extermination roadmap. This is a work in progress, we’ll make sure to update this guide once more information becomes available.
