Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially confirmed that the Tekken 8 Jun Kazama version will be playable in the game.
Fans of the Tekken franchise lore, whether you like it or not, you will now have to accept the facts coming out from the mouth of Director Katsuhiro Harada. In an interview at the Tekken World Tour 2022 North America Regional Finals, he confirmed that Jun Kazama, Tekken 8 version, will be playable. He also has an explanation for that.
According to Harada, Jun was actually missing and presumed dead since her first appearance in Tekken 2. She was not dead in the first place and everyone just assumed she died after the events in the game. In previous Tekken games, she only appeared as a flashback or cameo hence not considered canon. In Tekken 8, Jun’s missing years might get explained there.
Harada and Producer Michael Murray showed off some early concept art of Jun in Tekken 8. Artist Mari Shimazaki was the one to design her, who also designed the Bayonetta main cast and also Josie Rizal and Kazumi Mishima from Tekken 7.
Tekken 8 launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. No official release date announced yet.
