The Pokémon Company Having “More Conversations” About Ensuring Game Standards

Future Pokemon games possibly getting improved in terms of quality.

The Pokémon Company has recently stated that it is now having “more and more conversations” about its game quality. They are also ensuring the series’ relentless release schedule.

Pokémon Game Releases Getting Detrimental Effect

Pokémon has always been releasing titles per calendar year together with the expansions. According to fans, these releases are having a detrimental effect on the games themselves and this is getting worse because this time the series has changed into a fully open-world.

Another Issue Occurs

Last year, Nintendo apologized for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s state at launch which had a lot of technical issues that affected the games’ performance. Now, another issue has come about and The Pokémon Company addressed it.

“I think in general, if you look at the past, the path we’ve taken up until now has been this constant release, always regularly releasing products on a fairly fixed kind of a cadence, you might say,” The Pokémon Company’s Chief Operating Officer Takato Utsunomiya told Comicbook in an interview.

“That’s how we’ve operated up until now [and] I think we’re still operating in that way, but there’s more and more conversations, as the development environments change, about how we can continue to do this, while making sure that we’re ensuring really quality products are also being introduced.”

Complaints Go Way Back

These complaints about the quality of Pokémon games have been present for many years already, but this got worse last year when Scarlet and Violet launched. Hopefully, in the next Pokémon games, these issues will finally be gone and the company will be able to release the best titles in the future.
