The next entry in Creative Assembly’s popular strategy series is Total War: Pharaoh.

Total War: Pharaoh, the newest entry in the Total War grand strategy series, has officially been revealed. It will be available for PC digitally in October 2023 via Steam and Epic Games Store.

The upcoming new entry will be set during the events of the Egyptian New Kingdom Period. Players will be determining the fate of three cultures: Egyptian, Canaanite, and Hittite.

“Experience Ancient Egypt during the vibrant and tumultuous era of the Bronze Age Collapse and master dynamic real-time battles and turn-based empire management to rise above your adversaries and become Egypt’s last great Pharaoh,” Sega said.

Eight playable factions will be included in the base game, which promises a brand-new Campaign Customisation feature that lets players tailor the experience with “random starting positions for all factions, detailed resource settings, the ability to toy with natural disasters and much more”.

Total War: Pharaoh will support two-player co-op and head-to-head, with cross-play enabled for Steam and Epic Games users.

“There are few periods more iconic than Ancient Egypt; fraught with political intrigue, cataclysmic events and grand war campaigns, it’s the perfect setting for a Total War title,” said game director Todor Nikolov.

“As Pharaoh, you must save Egypt from the cusp of destruction and guide your people through the calamitous Bronze-Age collapse. It is up to you to either survive or fade into history.”

There are three editions for the game at launch. The standard edition is priced at $59.99, the Deluxe Edition, which includes DLC Faction Pack 1 and a digital soundtrack for only $72.87, and the Dynasty Edition which includes DLC Faction Pack 1, 2 and 3, the DLC Campaign Pack, and a digital soundtrack is $91.46.

A physical edition of the game will include a Steam download code, the cosmetic packs, and a double-sided poster that will be available in select retailers after the digital launch later this year.

Pre-orders will offer an exclusive early access weekend and receive the Avatar of the Gods Cosmetic Pack and Heart of the Shardana Cosmetic Pack.
