Upcoming video game Watch Dogs Legion allows players to play any character in the game. They can even recruit different kinds of people whether they are a resident of London or from law enforcement. It will all depend on the methods of recruiting such characters for DedSec.
Watch Dogs Creative Director Clint Hocking gives more details on how recruitment is done in the game and other mechanics involved with these characters.
Hocking revealed that there are several ways to recruit characters in the game. The easiest way to do it is with characters that are already aligned with DedSec. They only need to be talked to on the street and they will give players the recruitment mission. If they complete it, they get to recruit that character to their roster.
For characters that do not trust DedSec yet, Hocking says:
… you can unlock the deep profiler which will allow you to gain information about their schedule, relationships and contacts so you can figure out a way to help them and win them over to your cause, so that you can then do their recruitment mission.
There are also other characters in the world that are in danger and will need to be rescued. They are being threatened by Albion, so by rescuing them they get to trust the players and will join DedSec right away.
Hocking shares the last method of recruitment:
And finally, by inspiring the boroughs to rise up and take back the city, new characters will join your team and the population will shift over time to support DedSec.
The methods have quite the variety and realistic in some sense as well. These will make the gameplay more interesting.
Watch Dogs Legion will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC on Oct. 29. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will be available when the next gen consoles get released.
