Farming in a game has never been horrifying as a new horror game has been announced. The title of the game is ‘We Harvest Shadows’ and fans will be experiencing a relaxing yet terrifying moment living alone on a farm and surviving the haunt of the demons.

From the creator of The First Tree comes We Harvest Shadows, an emotional first-person narrative game with farming and horror elements. Players take control of Garrett, a transplant from the city who has exiled himself to an abandoned farm for the rest of his life. He thinks the world is better without him in it.

Each new day brings a new to-do list. Players will fix up their house, care for livestock, and improve their farmstead, all while exploring the hundreds of acres surrounding the farm. But in the quiet of the lonely nights, something stirs. Is Garrett truly alone? Or is something stalking him from the shadows?

Taking inspiration both from slow-burn P.T.-style psychological horror games and Edith Finch-style personal first-person titles, this game plays on poignant horror themes to gradually imagine a terrifying vision that Garrett must save himself from—until the soul-shaking end.

We Harvest Shadows Key Features:

  • Experience a slow-burn horror/drama focused on atmosphere and storytelling instead of jump scares.
  • Explore miles of abandoned Appalachian wilderness, set to a gorgeous cinematic soundtrack.
  • Focus on building your farmstead instead of worrying about hunger, thirst, or an inventory screen in this “Survival-lite” experience.
  • Clean and organize your house to help prevent hauntings and regain your sanity.
  • Optimize your farm to earn money and buy new vehicles, tools, and player upgrades.
  • Piece together the mystery of Garrett’s life via flashbacks, voiceovers, and journal entries.

We Harvest Shadows is a gaming experience unlike anything else. It’s relaxing yet terrifying. It’s beautiful yet ugly. It’s the type of experience that sits with you for years after the closing credits.

We Harvest Shadows will be available on PC soon, and a demo is out now on Steam. For more info about the game, you can check out their info on the Steam page.
