XCOM: Chimera Squad To Have Mod Support, Ironman Mode

Game studio Firaxis recently confirmed with game publication US Gamer of several features highly sought for upcoming video game XCOM: Chimera Squad.

XCOM: Chimera Squad will have features highly sought by fans

If you are a big fan of the series, you would know by now that the PC version will always have at least these features: mod support and the Ironman Mode. Mod support is a given due to the diverse gaming community and its desire of its players to have a unique experience in the game. Ironman mode is where the big fans try out the most difficulty mode of them all and survive all of the missions with or without losing their squad members. It is all part of the franchise experience.

In Chimera Squad, you will get to experience that as the Firaxis spokesperson confirmed with US Gamer that there will be features like mod functionality and Ironman mode. Players love to create their own enemies, characters, maps and other content that could expand the game and Firaxis will allow it.

Ironman mode will only have one save file and it will get overwritten every time players will make a move. In Chimera Squad, if the player fails a mission, they will have to restart the whole game from the start. There will be no manual saving and reloading for this mode.

The game will launch next week, April 24 on PC via Steam. At launch players can buy it for $9.99 as a special discount for those who will buy it early. On May 1, it will go back to its original price of $19.99.
