Recall is one of the newest abilities in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This ability allows Link to rewind the state and position of a particular object without having to actually go back in time.

Read ahead as we talk about the Recall ability in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and share tips and tricks on how to use it effectively.

Recall will be the fourth Zonai ability that Link will possess in the Sky Islands. It can be obtained by entering the Temple of Time for the first time and touching the cracked stone. A cutscene will then play showing Zelda bestowing link the Recall ability.

While on Recall mode, Link’s immediate surroundings will turn monochrome while objects that can be recalled will be highlighted in yellow. Once an object has been selected, it will stop moving and start going back to its original position or orientation. A timer will also appear showing how much time is left before the recall effect ends and the object resumes moving normally again.

Most objects will show a line that shows either their reversed path or their reversed rotation.

It is possible to extend the recall effect by continuously using it on the object as its timer runs out or by manually cancelling the effect.

As you journey across Hyrule, you will see falling boulders from the sky. These boulders can be used as elevators to get back up to the Sky Islands by climbing on top of them then using the Recall ability on them. This will reverse their fall and bringing you along up into the sky.
